Changing the World

Trying to change anything, whether in the personal life or the world at large, with any expectancy for lasting good is futile (as all who have tried to do so have discovered). But it’s a necessary part of the living process to drive into existence to experience whatever is necessary to fulfil the desire of that which is deemed to be missing from the life.

If someone is moved to protest to highlight some flaw in society, it’s to be conscious of what is being done without the cause being subverted through the psychic force of others. It’s to participate in the struggle but with the knowledge that whatever changes will simply be part of the perennial shifting values of a monolith of unresolved unconscious force which supports the psychic structure of the world.

At a specific level of self-knowledge, the individual undergoes a shift in consciousness whereby the emotional frequency that was reactionary and prone to short-circuit the harmony of the being is transcended. Coinciding with this shift in perception is the emergence of purpose to the life which, before, was obscured by the changeability of the emotional self.

Purpose is the current of reality resonating to the power of now. From here on, this transmission of truth rearranges whatever needs to be changed in the man or woman’s life through the willing surrender to the source of creation within the being. They will then contribute through their time on earth something of lasting value to humanity, even though from the overall perspective the struggle for lasting peace continues unabated in the world.

What happens to mind when consciousness expands?

Mind is synonymous with space. Just as space permeates everywhere and everything, so does mind. We live and have our being in the mind. Consciousness is the reflected light of the stationary side of existence. In this timeless place (which can be called eternity) mind and consciousness function as two aspects of the reality system: active and passive modes of pure intelligence.

The first movement in the eternal mind creates a ripple effect which reverberates through the echelons of the psyche – all the way to the surface level of human awareness. This transmission of truth travels on the medium of love, which is translated by the sense mechanism to a frequency consonant with sensory perception.

Within the universal mind (represented by the vast expanse of external space in existence) are billions of personal minds. Each personal mind is made up of an exclusive agenda of desires, emotional attachments, impressions and drives which are projected into the world as the person. When someone embarks on the conscious disillusionment of their former ignorance of self, they begin to depersonalise the mind of its particular identification with the substance of their world.

During the transitional stages an expansion of perception occurs, not unlike a cinema screen being extended to allow a wider picture to be viewed. It’s not the consciousness that expands but the perimeter of mind, which adjusts in perception to the enhanced power of the spirit now able to be contained within the being.

How to go beyond feelings in a partnership?

In normal relationships where we all gather experience, the predominant mode of intelligence is feeling. Love is not a feeling but the original state of being. Feelings are interpretations of existence and not the direct experience of life and love. Usually it’s only occasionally that lovers are truly present as an absence of thought or imagination, either together or making love. But when this happens, the immediacy of the moment is quickly overwhelmed by the feelings of love for each other and of the pleasure of the sensual exchange. From feelings arise the personal attachments which have their basis in fear, sentimentality and dishonesty – which is a definition of personal love.

When partners are mature and real enough to endeavour to make love more conscious, there has to be sense of a greater purpose of why they are together. They must be vigilant and searingly honest to point out to each other in the moment should any emotional disturbance arise and come between them. But this has to be pointed out in love and not accusation. Any withholding of this due to fear of an emotional reaction in the other is another example of personal love, and the consideration of their feelings rather than serving the principle of love itself. In other words, they begin to serve a higher love, not governed by feelings but the next level up, which is serving the principle of impersonal love.

As partners persevere in simply making love as two bodies in the innocence of each other’s presence, the attachment as personal love is gradually transcended. The man’s personal love of his woman becomes broader to encompass the love of the impersonal divine principle of She, deep within every woman on earth. At this stage of the transformation of his sexual self the man is not looking to get anything for his self; the benediction of love is in the discovered purpose of his actions and life.

When a woman with whom he’s in partnership is loved in intimacy and affection by such a man, she begins to emanate a sense of the indefinable beauty of She. The woman knows as pure knowledge that her true nature is being honoured and recognised by her divine lover in existence. When a woman is loved rightly she no longer doubts herself, and the man emits a greater authority in love and in his existential life. In time, both partners are divested of the personal attachments in their relationships, not only to one another but to family members and friends. This can be extremely painful and demanding as a process of transformation (as anyone who’s had to be true to love will know). But through the devotion to love of the Most High and each other, they immortalise their love in the flesh through the virtue of the love made in existence.

Alone am I, yet accompanied by love as facets of my manifold self in existence. I contain each world of my spiral staircase, with each realm in ascending order a finer version of my mystery behind the projected sensory world. I am the one and only appearing as the many. Each living organism is contained in me, some brighter than others in varying states of consciousness. Time lived on earth is the becoming of who I am in the sensory body. When time is up, all is restored to the timeless state of love.

God man is a revolutionary; a freedom fighter so passionately inspired by the unknown that in changing himself within he changes the world without through the virtue of his life. God woman is the serene beauty that is She, the radiant spiritual principle within every woman on earth.

Nothing is certain in the creative process. Everyone alive has the incipient knowledge of the immortal state, but the impulse to realise the truth as a conscious state of being is rare indeed. The individuals who do so are not special or ‘chosen’ but when nudged by the spirit to return home respond with an unswerving resolve and willingness to unite with the source of their inspiration.

It’s often said that an artist, writer or designer who creates something unique and outstanding must have a great imagination. But is this really the case? No imagination is necessary when immersed in the total absorption of the creative act itself. Before any creative work begins there has to be an idea. An idea is complete unto itself with no need for embellishment. To the degree that an artist, or anyone, is able to replicate an idea in its pristine state in the world, the greater the originality in any creative work. With a still mind, he or she is in a state of receptivity to the well of inspiration within the body. When this focus of perception is applied as a way of life to encompass the whole living experience, it’s then possible to tap into a unique pool of creativity that is the energetic idea behind each body sustaining the living life.

The truth is awful because it contradicts everything that is taught and revered as the untruth of the world. People say they want the truth but mostly get upset or affronted when it’s presented to them. This happens when the person becomes attached to their master or some religious tradition, which then solidifies as a particular position in the mind and forms a psychological barrier to the development of individual consciousness. The purpose of any genuine realised teacher is to disturb the perimeter of ignorance which surrounds the innocence and purity of the spiritual centre within the brain.

When people say they want the truth, in most instances they are looking for a teacher or guru to say what they want to hear or to quote sweet sounding poetry; this lulls the mind and emotions into a soporific trance. A spiritual teacher’s real function is to puncture the complacency of the mind, which gains its sense of security through sitting on the fence of its mental formulations. The person enjoys being interested in the truth but balks at having to live it as a true participant of this glorious life. It’s the inner being that resonates with the spiritual light of truth which signals the readiness for the deepening knowledge.
