Real Love
Real love is an impersonal power that destroys the concepts of love, which are interpretations of the radiant idea itself. It’s impossible to teach another of love. This is because love is an original state of being and always accessible as direct experience when in touch with the innocence and simplicity of life. When love is invoked and becomes the passion of living, all that eventually remains is a body purified of the corruption in matter.
The difficulty is that our bodies have become insulated by the compacted layers of human experience, represented through the ages of immemorial past. The task of love in these times is to journey back through the attachment to sexual excitement and emotional pain to re-unite with the formless divinity behind the body. But the personal demands and commitment required to serve a higher love, often over many years, makes this rare indeed. Nevertheless everyone alive contributes in some way to the rectification of ignorance of love’s purpose through being born and living out their ordinary lives.
Nothing is more confrontational and spiritually productive than being in a love partnership. This is because the power of attraction that brought two people together contains energetically the future circumstances to bring both to a deeper realisation of love. The often extreme challenges and difficulties encountered are love’s way of making each more honest to the purpose of being in relationship. When someone has suffered enough from the hurts and disappointments of past sexual experiences, they are in the necessary process of unlearning just about everything concerning love in existence.
Sometimes in making physical love, something happens out of the ordinary, even for people who are not necessarily spiritually inclined to make love more conscious. They reach or touch upon an exalted place of supreme beauty. This is registered as an extraordinarily potent quality of accentuated pleasure and divine wonder. This is the tantric power of union between the male and female principles. It happens to awaken, if possible, the idea of pure sensuality which is the inherent power of love within everybody on earth. When two people in partnership are willing to go all the way for love, the integrity of this divine state of being inspires them both to enter more deeply this sacred space of reality.
A man’s authority is determined by his power to love woman and contain her divine beauty in lovemaking. Only ‘She’, the formless love behind the appearance of the billions of physical women’s bodies, on earth can bestow the accolade. When he has sufficiently transformed his sexual wanting and served the female principle, both in his endeavour to love her physically and in his worldly function, he undergoes a fundamental change in consciousness. This enables him to remain more present in the sexual act.
In what follows I’ll endeavour to describe from the male perspective what happens in love as beauty is transcended to knowledge, and then to the indescribable state of divine love.
His being merges with the purified space of the consciousness of the vagina. Here there is no personal lover, only the impersonal presence of the male principle. The emanation of male authority purified of the taint of self attracts the female principle of love through the unifying power, communicated as the absence of any sexual force. The female principle waits behind the veil of existence for her beloved man to recognise and unite with her essential divine presence. The union is registered as rapture and a sense of completion. Only a man who has died innumerable deaths in the devotion to love can invoke this sacred union.
Perhaps the most extraordinary realisation in this intensified space of being is that it is love itself which makes the love, the sensory bodies of man or woman simply being the means through which love is made more conscious on earth.
My e-book ‘Making Love Real’ is available on the website for anyone looking to make love more real in their lives.
Just beautiful if every sexual act was completed like this.
There are very few who would understand and accept pure lovemaking..
Makes a basic sexual act seem very tacky.
I always learn something from your insights into the human condition. We are a society in an evolutionary process, finding our way toward awakening to our connection to all of existence and while our personal relationships take much of our attention, we are also learning of our connection with the rest of the universe, in all it’s manifested forms.
Sometimes I feel disturbed by my inability to be present to my own experience, especially in relationship to others who seem to be as disconnected from self as I am so our ability to connect is limited to our ability to be present in our self and to one another.
I am still learning to be present with my own energy so connecting with the world around me is a challenge, especially the human world, because most are also not present.
What do you think is the answer to this issue?
Amazingly, everything that’s necessary to realise our unique spiritual potential is contained within the circumstances which surround our living life. Relationships, not only to other people but to the world as an inner and outer perception of sensory forms, provide the friction and dynamic tension for intelligence to discern the truth and eventually realise a deeper source of reality.
We have become, as you say, ‘disconnected’ and therefore unable to function authentically in our relationships with others. This is because in being attached to our own emotional pain we can’t help but project this onto others. Everything is a mirror of myself. Whatever disturbs or moves the matter of the body points to an emotional attachment in the world.
Our western culture is like a hardened layer of steel. This hardness is the resistance to love and truth in varying degrees within every body. There are no spiritual values in the West since it’s built and run on the ethic of acquisition and greed. The only way out, as my own spiritual master Barry Long taught, is through serving one’s time in the monastery of the world. This is what we’re all doing, some more consciously than others. The monastery is our own God-made spiritual practice as to what needs to be confronted and resolved as any negative emotional or psychological effects in the world.
The resistance is slowly eroded as an individual begins to be more conscious, perceiving for example any energy leakages in activities that no longer hold the same interest or enjoyment as before. Our robotic nature is deeply ingrained through the absence of any true wisdom from our teachers’ and society’s slavish devotion to religion and the scientific mind. Any difficulty or frustration is a guardian to the next level of reality within the psyche of inner space. In facing my self through the reflection of outer events and circumstances, I gradually pass through the limitations of the person.
Something’s dying inside, Donald, but this is only the false part of you and it can only be resolved by the individual. And that’s the price of freedom.
Something is dying inside, when I try to stay present within my energy field, but it is only the false part of me. Would it be alike to the Christ death on the cross ➕
The dying inside is the same for everyone who has ever dared to be free. What was so special about Christ’s suffering on the cross? Ten thousand were crucified on the Appian Way, some of whom must have loved God. Innumerable persons have had to endure far greater suffering than someone else somewhere.
It’s the false part of you that’s dying. That’s your knowledge and that’s enough to get you through. Bear the pain as much as you can but don’t fight it or judge yourself as having failed in those times when the force appears to overwhelm you. It’s the false part of you which is being exposed and enables the transformation process to deepen as you surrender more to God or the invisible source of life.
OK thanks
