The Jigsaw Puzzle
When the mind looks to discern the meaning of life, the effect is similar to trying to sort out a jigsaw puzzle with thousands of pieces – but with no knowledge of the completed picture. This is because the mind is not equipped for such a task since it can only focus on a particular part of the puzzle and not the whole. To grasp the totality of the idea of life and the purpose of being in existence, the parts of the puzzle must somehow find their place within the whole.
This is no easy task while human beings live fragmented lives with scattered parts of knowledge and information within the subconscious. Man lives as a composite of acquired bits of memorable experience and absorption of data compartmentalised by the mental function of the ego. But from the broader perspective, he exists primarily as a jigsaw man with gaping holes in his knowledge and purpose of life. A woman is less fragmented when attuned to her natural state of love. She becomes puzzled only when self-doubtful and acts out of her acquired personal nature rather than her impersonal state of being.
And yet life in its wisdom is devised in such a way that in each moment while alive, the parts of the jigsaw needed to complete the potential master work are being refined. What emerges from each life recurrence is the filling in of some part of the artwork, which in one lifetime can be minimal and in another spectacular.
Gradually, after many lifetimes, a shining vision emerges through the purified space of the psyche. This is none other than a replica made in a fusion of light and consciousness of the true spiritual being, which unknowingly, had been guiding and influencing each life on earth. This divine union between the human spirit in matter with the timeless source of inspiration signals the completion of a specific phase of life.
From here on, the jigsaw of existence is no longer a puzzle. The parts now function as aspects of the whole while embodied on earth – and beyond into the other side of existence as boundless, immortal life.
